GENERAL PHILOSOPHY and PRINCIPLES
The
Philosophy
In general, the prefabricated building industry is a speedy mode
of construction but it has to-date shown constraints in mould-making
which is limited to a specially designed project. Once the project
has been completed, the moulds cannot be reused for another project
thus adding to costs, wastage and time consumed.
The O-Stable Panel System uses a fibreglass mould with steel framed
casing as a working platform. The mould will be brought to the project
site to reduce the heavy cost of transportation of the precast concrete
panel i.e. take the factory to the construction site. (Refer to
Illustration - I /Fig. 1. 02 to 1. 04).
The
Principles
The precast concrete components for all walls and half-slabs are
cast in horizontal fibreglass moulds in the casting yard of the
project site. By adjusting the side formwork of the mould working-platform
(Refer to Illustration - I / Fig. 1.02) precast concrete panels
of any size which are adaptable to any design for Architectural
requirement can be produced.
If necessary, the precast concrete panels with T and L projecting
arm can be produced by adding accessory formwork on the top of the
mould working platform (Refer to Illustration - I / Fig. 1.06 item
5: Panel with Adjustable T).
The wall panels are cast slightly smaller to facilitate installation
between two columns. The components are removed from the moulds
by a light motorized crane the day after casting and are ready for
installation after four days.
For installation procedure, refer to Illustration- 2.
