HISTORY and VISION WCT represents the initials of the surname of its founders - the Wong brothers (Sewe Wing and Chwee Lai), Chan Soon Huat and Taing Kim Hwa. They were friends staying in Puchong who decided to form WCT. From a small capital contribution from each of them, the business has expanded to become a public-listed company. WCT was incorporated in January 1981 under the name of WCT Earthworks & Building Contractors Sdn. Bhd.. It changed its name to WCT Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in February 1994. The Company was converted to a public company in April 1994 and assumed its present name of WCT Engineering Berhad. It was listed on the Second Board of KLSE in February 1995. SPECIALISING IN EARTHWORKS WCT has been principally involved in civil engineering works, specialising in earthworks for housing development, highway construction and other related infrastructural works. Over the last 15years, the Company has successfully carved a niche for itself in the local construction scene. Led by an able and dedicated management team, WCT weathered the recessionary storm in the mid-eighties. A resilient WCT has emerged stronger than ever to tap the vast opportunities offered by the country's buoyant economics growth over the last few years. REPUTATION FOR RELIABILITY WCT has developed a reputation for reliability. It has established long-standing working-relationship with other contractors and a large number of reliable building materials' and machineries' suppliers. It has the ability to provide a full range of civil engineering services, form design and value engineering to construction of infrastructural projects. SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED MANY PROJECTS WCT has successfully completed many projects in civil engineering and construction over the years throughout Peninsular Malaysia. It hopes to venture further afield, to East Malaysia and other countries in the region, especially in the ASEAN countries. For WCT, there are no barriers to progress and development. VISION WCT has the vision to be a leader in the field of engineering, construction and property development and also strives to be a successful well-diversified corporation in the country. From mainly sub-contracted projects in the past, it aims to be the main and turnkey contractor for projects and eventually to be involved in the country's privatisation projects under the Build-Operate-Transfer concept. It is the objective of WCT to provide excellent quality products and services to its clients and, at the same time to create wealth and better quality life for the betterment of society as its contribution towards the achievement of the country's social-economic development.
