The inception of Sime Tyres International
(M) Sdn Bhd in 1979 heralded the progressive growth of a
company driven by a single-minded ambition and determination
to leave its marks of excellence across the globe. STI was
incorporated as part of South East Asia's leading multinational
conglomerate - the Sime Darby Group.
STI started its operations in retread tyres, and in meeting the demands
of the local and export markets, moved on to produce a wide range
of tyres for motorcycles, passenger cars, light commercial and 4-wheel
drive vehicles and trucks.
Today, STI is the largest OEM supplier in Malaysia to various automobile
and vehicle manufacturers and assemblers which include Proton, Honda,
Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Mitsubishi, Volvo and Land Rover, government
sectors, fleet operators and replacement markets.
The numerous international certifications earned by the company include
the Gulf Standard Award presented by Saudi Arabian Standards Organisation
in 1991, the ECE30 and ECE54 which certify that Sime Tyres meet the
highest European standard requirements as well as ISO 9002 and ISO
14000.
Sime Tyres has also won three prestigious Government awards which

STI is the first tyre manufacturer to be
awarded the OHSAS 18000 Health & Safety Management System and
the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System by SIRIM.
STI has one of the largest tyre dealer network in the domestic market
servicing over 500 dealers and motorists throughout the country.
STI's exclusive outlets include Pusat Sime Tyres, Monza Point and
Lorimaster.
STI exports its tyres to over 60 countries worldwide.
